Forum is back!
Hello everyone, I am very happy to tell you all that the GPRM forum is back and working again.
We apologize for the down time. The main reason was down to a bandwidth issue generated by the forums.
The problem is now fixed and we can all go back to our regular spam about a release date ... and how about Mosley.
Race Video
Further development of the GPRM race engine is evident in our low resolution downloadable GPRM race video.
Vista Operating System
The new Vista operating system has given GPRM a workout by our technical team. GPRM was designed to run with DX7 and we do not plan to change this. However, Vista was not keen on the use of a legacy Direct X, so, with some minor tweaking we were able to get GPRM up and running on the Vista platform and we are confident that the game will be released without a hitch on a full range of operating system options from the latest Vista to W98.
GPRM Race Screen
A recent screenshot from the forthcoming GPRM open wheel racing management sim taken by the test team from GPRM Alpha version 4.3.1 has been added to the screenshot page and is accessible from this news article. The link is to a low resolution 800x600 screenshot of the race screen. The test version was using a special data set and car set based on the 2003 Formula 1 series. The game is planned to be launched without any official racing series license. The data and carsets will be a ficticious world open wheel motor racing Championship series.
New Change log
The GPRM development team have been pressing on getting the game ready for a commercial release over the past few months as a result, we have not been updating the news on the web site as often as we would have liked.
Wiki Article
An article recently appeared on Wikipedia claiming that F1CM or GPRM was undergoing some development issues. It was claimed this was due to a change of staff. Please be assured this is not the case. The same team of developers are still working to produce the game and commercial terms are currently being negotiated for release of the game GPRM.
Happy New Year
Best wishes for a happy new year to all our forum members and readers. Festives Greetings.
F1CM is in the middle of a GUI make-over. I am sure it does not surprise many of you that our design is now a little dated due to the time taken thus far to get the game released. Many of you have been waiting for a very long time. Some of you have been very patient and others understandably less so...
End of Season
The final grand prix of the 2006 season will be remembered for a multitude of firsts and finals. Michael Schumacher bowed out of Formula one after a record 7 championships in dramatic style showing just why he will be remembered as a legend in the sport long after he is firmly settled into his new life of domestic bliss and regular Sunday drives...
GPRM News Engine
As the coding work on the GPRM draws nearer to a close, the in-game news portfolio dictionary is being rapidly expanded. We recently passed the 20,000 mark for different news combinations and we are increasing the currently modest 98 diferent story lines every day via our tireless data team. The objectives of our work in the news engine is to provide the news sections with some variety whilst focusing on providing the gamer with a good sense for the vital information on the state of all the in-game team operations. Obviously this is done in as non-repetitive way as possible.
GPRM Progress
Right now GPRM is going through a very exciting stage. The game is rapidly approaching completion and we hope all the delays will have been well worthwhile in terms of the gameplay.
Job Vacancies
For those eagle-eyed GPRM fanatics we have a new section which will display job vacancies within the GPRM team. Please see here for future jobs.
GPRM Progress update
The GPRM development team are currently working on a major game upgrade that will be used as the final alpha test platform and the Alpha Test Team Competition. General game play has been 'beefed up' for this version and as importantly the game engine race weekend has been upgraded to provide far more user inter-activity.
Ayrton Senna
As F1 fans it is impossible for us at GPRM to allow the 1st of May to pass without commenting on the fact that today marks the 12th anniversary of the death of 3 times world champion Ayrton Senna.
New Testers
We are pleased to confirm that Antonije Avdalovic, Bert Swartfigure(Rotax), Chris Heath (Propmanoz), Dave Ryan and Sascha Heiland(Sascha01) have joined the Alpha test team. It has been necessary to increase the number of testers working on the game from Alpha 4.1.6 in order to get the maximum data outputs. We are pleased to secure each of them who have shown excellent contributions to the forum and to the game in recent months.
Schumi on TOP !!
In honour of the great man's achievements this weekend the GPRM web site team have adopted his logo into the heading banner. We intend to refresh the banner throughout the F1 season on a topical basis. Congratulations deservedly go to Michael Schumacher on achieving his 66th and new record number of Pole Positions and extending his record number of GP victories to 85 after his win at San Marino this weekend. The sight of a non-Renault car winning was refreshing and should help to breathe some life into this season's Formula One World Championship. Due to the obvious lack of overtaking in the race the GPRM team have re-evaluated the overtaking opportunities in the GPRM San Marino GP and we have reduced the OT chances still further.
