erm ... we can still qualify, but i won't be surprised if we miss out. Nobody played well today, making Wright Phillips look half decent when he came on. Should have Crouch up front with Rooney, who has had a shocking tournament so far. Joe Cole has to play, he's probably the only player we've got that can create something. Stick him on the left with Lennon on the right wing, but he has to take on his man and get some crosses in. Gerrard and Barry in the middle, no Lampard, he hasn't done anything for me in the tournament, at least Gerrard showed a lot of passion and scored our only goal of the world cup against USA.
Cole and Johnson as wing backs, with Terry and Upson in the centre of defence, Carragher is past it, and he retired because he couldn't get in the team a few years ago, now he's worse, so why is he playing?
Joe Hart in goal, had a terrific season for Birmingham, Rob Green almost certainly won't play again under Capello, and David James didn't fill me with confidence, but he does have the experience that Hart doesn't.
Have to beat Slovenia next week, and I can almost guarantee that none of those changes will happen, apart from at centre back as Carragher is suspended Smiley

If England keep playing like that, they don't deserve to get past the group stages frankly. It's almost like collective stage-fright at times...and what, pray, is the logic of starting one of our best international goalscorers (Crouch) on the bench two games in a row? In both games he's been brought on with barely 10 minutes to play - there's almost no point in that really.
I do feel Green has been pretty hard done by in all this, considering the defence and midfield in the USA game were nothing to write home about, but James was very composed tonight and did a good job. The rest of the team really need a reality check, though.

Sorry for the absence of the usual tact, but while as a Welshman by birthplace part of me is finding this amusing the other part is finding it pretty ridiculous. They can and should be playing better than this.

because even though crouch has a superb caps for goals ratio he only scores against crap sides, which isnt much help past the group stage, i agree he should of been played against all 3 of these sides from the off cos he'll score against shit like that but seriously he isnt that good, he wont score against the bigger sides past group stage he simply is not good enough neither is the england team, we have slowly but surely over the years slipped away. it wont be long now before we are heading home, and based on what ive seen it'll be a good job if we do to spare ourselves even more humiliation. fact is england arent the power house everyone things we are we are usless

Ive been enjoying this so far. the ball has ruined certain aspects. Mainly free kicks and long passing, at times it looks like they are playing with a beach ball!!!England... Ill be surprised if capello doesnt get sacked at this rate, no one seems to like him.

Spain were magical to watch today...

It looks to me like while Brazil are a team, Spain are a team, Portugal are a team, England are 11 players playing. I think Capello should just drop all 11 and then might have a chance.

sacking a world class manager from england wont solve anything at the end of the day the next manager will have the same batch of crap to deal with so it solves nothing.
