Well hello fellow Forumites,

This is the Viper and I am getting ready to Strike Fear into my fellow testers again. Rumor has it that there is a big Alpha Competition starting this weekend, and to shake things up a bit all testers will be invited to compete, or lose whichever comes first. I can see them now scurrying about trying to master the maze I am about to put them through, the sweat pouring down their beady little eyes, their little noses twitching about trying to get the upper hand, but it is fruitless, for there is not any cheese at the end, just the Fangs of the Pit Viper, ready to strike and devour them whole like the mice they are. So bring it on you little rodents, I am getting hungry and can't wait for the weekend.

I will defend my title!

They've decided to do it with alpha 9.2.x, so we can do the competition over 2 seasons. Stu said last night that staff negotiations will be done tonight, which means barring any really big issues we should be up and running by the weekend.

Would you guys report here or something? Things have been a little bit slow lately.

I would love to comment and try to help with silly and annoying questions, but if there's not a single person saying something, who am I supposed to be asking? Grin

Rest assured, there is plenty of work going on behind the scenes. There are regular meetings and new .exe's nearly every night. Viper has just sent an email to the test team regarding tester's post count/activity, so hopefully there should be an increase. But keep the questions coming, especially regarding improvements to screens (and any bugs you might spot on them!). Some of the changes that have been suggested have in fact already been made in the latest update.

Don't worry there is plenty of work going on behind the scenes as hampshire says. However i wouldnt say things have been too slow, in the last 2 days you have had new blogs from both myself and hampshire. And you can see from the bug reports that there is a lot of work still going on.

There has been a problem with staff negotiations hence the postponement in the competition, once they are sorted we should be ready to roll. Have no fears.
